At the 2020 Independent Bankers Association of Texas
convention, R. Kinney Williams was presented the President's Award
for
57
years of dedicated service to the banking industry as a bank examiner,
banker, and independent bank auditor.
Since 1997, Mr. Williams has worked as an independent bank auditor
specializing in FFIEC IT audits, web site audits, pen-tests, loans reviews, and
providing overall regulatory assistance to community banks nationwide.
From 1989 to 1997 he worked for the Texas Department of Banking, and was the West Texas
Regional Director in Lubbock. His responsibilities included the financial condition
of 120 banks with assets more than 5 billion dollars, and 22 field examiners were
under his direction.
From 1980 to 1989, he worked as an independent bank auditor working loans
reviews, computer operations, and providing overall regulatory assistance to
community banks mainly in Missouri, Kansas. and Nebraska.
Division of Finance, State of Missouri, January 1967 - April 1980: As Supervising
Examiner his responsibilities included the supervision of personnel and the examination of
Missouri State banks. He directed more than 500 bank examinations and personally
managed more than 100 examinations. His responsibilities were to find and correct
problems, and determine the overall financial stability of the banks.
Mr. Williams started
Yennik, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri, in April 1980 and has lived in Lubbock, Texas since 1989.
He advises community bankers in regulatory matters, lending operations,
information technology security, and Internet security issues. Information

In addition, he has served as Executive Vice President
and Chief Lending Officer a 130 million dollar
bank with a two billion dollar trust department; He worked for regional bank consulting
firm in Kansas City, Missouri, where
he handled holding
company applications, bank stock appraisals, and the purchase and sale of banks.
In addition, he conducted bank stock appraisals for the FDIC, investors, ESOP
programs, estate purposes, and attorneys; He was a marketing representative for a
large investment firm in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, in Missouri and Oklahoma where he helped bankers with investment
opportunities.
Served as an expert witness several times regarding commercial banking and
regulatory matters dealing with operations and loan quality.
After serving in the US Navy, he started in banking at the Exchange National Bank, Columbia, Missouri from June 1963 - January 1967 that included direct involvement in all areas of bank
operations from a proof operator to head teller.
